The new Cancer Center at Cleveland Clinic aims to bring together patient treatment programs into one centralized location. When the seven-story, 377,000-sq.-ft facility opens it 2017, it will include designated space for expanded clinical trials, academics and research. Additionally, the upper stories of the building cantilever 30 ft over the structure’s ground floor driveway, which will provide an expansive drop-off and pickup zone.
Roughly 3,000 tons of structural steel is being used for the project. The steel fabricator is Sippel Steel Fab, Ambridge, Pa. (an AISC Member/Certified fabricator). Le Messurier, Boston, is the project’s structural engineer and the architects are William Rawn Associates, Boston, and Stantec, San Francisco. Turner Construction, Cleveland, is the general contractor.
