The Steel Joist Institute (SJI) is hosting a webinar this Wednesday, August 17. Steel Joists, Joist Girders and Hollow Structural Sections (HSS) will explore economical member and connection design for steel joists and girders framed to hollow structural section (HSS) columns and beams.
Learning objectives for this webinar include knowing the different HSS material specifications and reviewing the limit states unique to HSS members that come into play when designing joist/joist girder connections. Additionally, participants will gain an understanding of various connections between joists/joist girders and HSS members and how they can be achieved economically. The webinar will also discuss the resources available from SJI and the Steel Tube Institute (STI) to aid engineers in specifying these members and connections.
