Recent drone and aerial footage shows the progress being made for the East End Crossing of the Ohio River Bridges Project between Kentucky and Indiana. Workers are installing the structural steel for the main span of the 2,500-ft-long, cable-stayed bridge, which will connect Louisville with Utica, Ind., over the Ohio River. The project, which uses about 6,700 tons of structural steel, is roughly 80% complete and will open to traffic late this year. The bridge will include two lanes in each direction and a 13-ft-wide pedestrian and bicycle path.
The East End Crossing is the second bridge involved in the Ohio River Bridges project; the new downtown Louisville crossing, named the Abraham Lincoln Bridge, opened to traffic in December.
