Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge

Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge

The $3.98 billion Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge--the largest bridge project in New York history and one of the largest transportation design-build contracts in the United States to date—replaced the old Tappan Zee Bridge over the Hudson River. It is designed for a 100-year service life.

Much of the superstructure could be modularized because the design team chose steel.
